One of the things I have been practicing in my race preparation has been race transitions. In my last open water clinic we practiced the start and exit of the water. I want to focus a few hours in the next two weeks leading up to my first race the set up and transition to the bike from the water. I plan to spend a little time working on setting up the pedals and actually executing the bike mount.

In my thirst for more information I came across a excellent video that I think all novices like me might benefit from. There are many good details in this video including: racking your bike, getting your bike in the correct gear, racing with clip-on shoes, racing with socks, learn how to efficiently lay your gear out, and things to avoid in transition.
