Strength Training
One of the biggest things I attribute to my rapid weight loss over the last year has been my strength training routine. As I have become more educated about endurance sports I realized that I need to reevaluate my strength training program. Once I made the commitment to a season of triathlons I did not anticipate how this would alter my strength training program.
While I don’t think I have made any blunders in my training and clearly I would not have advanced to the point I am at now without. Now is the time to reevaluate. I should no longer look at my strength training from a body building perspective. I need to consider a focus on core exercises and stretching.
I need to do more research on the subject of strength training for a triathlete. I look forward to sharing information with you but would appreciate your comments.
How do you incorporate strength training into your weekly routine?

I CrossFit exclusively…it throws everything at you and teaches your mind to be prepared for anything. Of course, I know triathletes will balk at the idea of REDUCING the amount of swimming, biking and running by adding CrossFit, but I think you can substitute a good number of trainings with CrossFit workouts and NOT suffer, but actually IMPROVE.
I have a race this Sunday…yesterday I did the Crossfit workout of the day…..7 rounds of (7 deadlifts with 275 lbs, 1 200 meter sprint, 15 pull-ups)….I have no fear that I will compete well this Sunday.
Anyways, this is just my training….and my opinion
